Our story
We are a leading London-based law firm. For over 60 years, have acted for some of the most creative, talented and successful people, businesses and corporates, across all of their legal needs.
At Harbottle & Lewis, we pride ourselves on our personable, friendly and collaborative culture. Our open plan office space allows trainees to work closely with our partners who are always willing to help. What sets us apart from other law firms is our ethos and the level of responsibility we give to our trainees.
So, what’s our story?
Our origins date back to 1955 when Laurence Harbottle and Brian Lewis, who met at law school, decided to set up their own law firm specialising in the media and entertainment sectors that spawned from their mutual interest in the legal aspects of film production and theatre. More recently the Firm has grown and become leaders in the areas of Private Client and Technology.
As a full-service firm, we advise clients in the traditional practice areas: corporate, intellectual property, regulatory, advertising, litigation, employment, tax, and reputation management. We also practise in more specialist fields, such as data, privacy and innovative and disruptive technologies.
We’re uniquely positioned to provide clients with an end-to-end service, which gives our trainees quality exposure to many other parts of the business, providing invaluable commercial knowledge.
A firm with star quality
You’ll get to work on matters from the early stages right through to the finish with exciting, cutting edge clients ranging from multinational companies to start-up businesses; early stage entrepreneurs to established industry leaders; and household names to private individuals and their family offices, some of which include Stormzy, Little Simz, Square Enix, KFC and F1 Arcade.
We work on behalf of some of the biggest names in Music, Film, Fashion and Technology.
