Nicholas is an experienced family barrister. He studied law at Oxford University where he was awarded a First Class degree, before practising as a barrister for eight years at Queen Elizabeth Building Chambers.
Nicholas draws on his experience at the Bar to provide clients with a unique perspective and an unparalleled insight as regards the likely outcome of a case. His many years in practice as a barrister also mean that he has a keen eye for detail – and is able to absorb and understand information more quickly than most.
Nicholas specialises in complex financial matters. He regularly represents clients in High Court proceedings and on occasion in the Court of Appeal. He is particularly experienced in advising in cases involving substantial wealth and complex asset-holding structures, including assets held outside of England. He has undertaken many cases involving clients working in the private equity field. He also is adept at protecting family wealth, drafting nuptial agreements and advising family trusts in the context of marriages, civil partnerships and divorce.
The majority of Nicholas’ work is financial (principally financial remedy and Schedule 1 matters and pre-/post-nuptial agreements; he has also represented a client in an Inheritance Act claim).
However Nicholas also represents clients in relation to disputes involving children, both in respect of domestic issues but also international relocation cases.
